DIY Dry Erase Morning Routine Checklist for Kids – Plus Bonus Free Printable

August 25, 2017 by Jennifer 6 Comments

Raise your hand if you would rather hit snooze one more time than wash your hair in the morning. Or maybe you’re not as lazy as I am, but mornings are still crazy hectic trying to get the kids to do everything before heading off to school. (This post contains affiliate links.)

I will be the first to admit that I am NOT a morning person. Unfortunately I’ve passed that trait down to my 6 year old daughter as well, who accuses me of “ripping” her out of bed anytime I wake her up before 7:30. So when the new school year came creeping around the corner, I knew I needed a morning routine checklist to get us out of the house intact and fully prepared for the day.

Try using this DIY Dry Erase Morning Routine Checklist to help streamline your mornings!

I ALSO knew that the checklist had to be something we could use every morning. That’s where the dry erase part comes into play. I love using the self adhesive laminating sheets, and they wipe away clean very easily with any dry erase marker.

These are really easy to make, and only take a matter of minutes before you have yourself not only a handy, but a fun way to keep the kids on task in the morning. When all you can think about is getting to that cup of coffee!

Directions:

You will need TWO laminating sheets per checklist you make. So a pack of 10 will make you 5 checklists.

There should be a perforation for you to pull back all but a small strip of paper away from the adhesive side of the laminating paper.

DIY Dry Erase Morning Routine Checklist

Align your checklist right up to the bottom of the exposed adhesive part where the remaining strip of paper meets. Then smooth the checklist on to the rest of the laminating sheet from the bottom to the top.

Now take your second laminating sheet and begin to peel the paper away. Don’t do it all at once! You’ll want to line up both of the strips at the bottom, with the sticky side down, then SLOWLY peel back the paper.

Be sure to smooth the laminating sheet on top as you peel the paper off.

Now remove the two remaining strips of paper at the bottom.

Cut the excess lamination off of each side, leaving only a teeny bit.

Now make 2 holes, one on each side of the top of the checklist.

DIY Dry Erase Morning Routine Checklist

Cut two lengths of twine, about the same length as your checklist.

DIY Dry Erase Morning Routine Checklist

Tie each piece of twine to the holes using a square knot.

Now join the two pieces of twin in the middle, and tie a bow.

Now you can hang your Dry Erase Morning Routine Checklist anywhere that’s convenient. Make sure to check it off every morning so that you all get into the habit.

I am a really visual person so i need things to be infront of my eyes so that i can get organized. This eraseable checklist is such a good alternative than using a new sheet of paper every single day. Thanks for sharing, this was really helpful
