This cheese ball pumpkin is probably the quickest, yet cutest, while tastiest appetizer you could show up with to any fall party. I discovered a version of it on Pinterest while searching for easy party apps, and was pleasantly surprised when it truly was ridiculously simple.
Not only that, but it’s really easy to get the kiddos involved in the process since in only entails crushing up some chips, and rolling a ball of cheese around in them. And you could go so far as to make your own cheese ball, but to be honest… I’ve found that even the crappiest of grocery stores put out a decent green onion cheese ball come this time of year. Just check the deli section.
How to Make a Fall Cheese Ball Pumpkin
To make this awesome party app, all you need is a cheese ball, bag of Doritos, green bell pepper, and some crackers.
Put the Doritos in a gallon zip top bag
Crush them with a rolling pin – this is fun for the kiddos!
They should look like this:
Put the crushed chips into a serving dish, then roll the cheese ball around in the chips.
It should look like this:
Cut yourself a green bell pepper out of the garden (or buy one from the store if you don’t have a husband with a green thumb like I’m lucky enough to have).
Take your green bell pepper, and cut the stem off the top.
Be careful to keep the stem and base in tact.
Once you’ve transferred the cheese ball onto your serving platter, push the bell pepper stem into the top of the cheese ball so that it looks like the pumpkin stem.
It will look like this:
Now arrange some chips around the plate, and you’ve got yourself a super quick and easy fall party appetizer. Here I’ve used pita chips.
But Triscuits are delicious as well.
It really doesn’t matter what kind of cracker you use, it will get gobbled up no matter what within no time!
Here are some fun platters I found on Amazon that would be cute to serve this on (these are affiliate links):
