Dinner Menu Week Six

February 8, 2016 by Jennifer 2 Comments

Last week’s menu is a prime example of why I’m an advocate for Baby Led Weaning. After I was recently touting my one year old’s love of salmon and hollandaise sauce, I got nervous when “Salmon and risotto” night came. I feared it was a one hit wonder and he had come to his senses… But no, he double fisted the salmon, a bit of hollandaise, and the mushroom risotto until it was gone! We gave our (almost) five year old some pepperoni, carrots, and risotto which she reluctantly ate three bites of.

SHOPPING LIST:

  • Shredded carrots
  • Radish
  • Onion
  • (do a quick dice and pickle of these three things, mixing them with some sugar and vinegar for the Bahn Mi)
  • Bibb lettuce (for the Bahn Mi wrap, then to shred and put on top of Mexi Pizza)
  • Cilantro (Bahn Mi topping
  • Lime (to squeeze on the Bahn Mi)
  • Asian veggie blend (for Green Curry – Trader Joe’s has one pre-done in the produce section)
  • Celery (to chop up Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches)
  • Avocado (Bacon Avo Benny)
  • Tomatoes (to dice and put on Mexi pizza)
  • Potatoes (yes, Chili cheese baked potato)

  • Pork cutlets (for Bahn Mi- season, grill and slice)
  • Chicken (Buffalo sandwiches, green curry, pesto pasta)
  • Bacon (Bacon avo Bennie, and just because it’s always nice to have bacon)
  • Ground beef (Mexi pizza)
  • Hoagie rolls (Buffalo chicken sandwich)
  • English muffin (Bennedict)
  • Lemon pasta
  • Rice (Green curry)
  • Hollandaise (we had some left over from last week… hence why we’re having Bennie again)

  • Black olives (Mexi pizza)
  • Refried Beans (Mexi pizza
  • Enchilada sauce (Mexi pizza)

I love how you note what the ingredient on the shopping list is for. You'd think it would be "obvious" but with overly busy minds and too little time, sometimes nothing is obvious so it really helps see how it all fits together.

I realized that until I can get recipes done for everything, that might help!
